The origin of street names in the Cirebon

In the book Sunan Gunung Jati (Between Fiction and Fact), grounding Islam with the structural and cultural approaches wrote Dr H Dadan Wildfire MHum, in which also includes the story behind the naming of places in Cirebon. History Cirebon second volume elaborate about the origin of a place mainly Lemahwungkuk, Panjunan, Pasayangan, Pekarungan, Gunungsari, Hamlet Semar, Kebon Pring, Pekalangan, Pandesan, Parujakan, Anjatan, Pulasaren and Jagasatru.

The story started when the Walangsungsang aka Somadullah begin the journey went to the south of Jati montain. Walangsungsang came to a solitary place which nobody, except a very old man named Ki Pangalang - alang

Arriving at the place, said the words Walangsungsang lamma waqo'tu or that means I have arrived. Therefore the place was named Lemahwungkuk.

Then after prayer, Walangsungsang leave the house to start work. He saw a lot of big trees, and some have high 500 yards, but he was diligently opened the woods, cut down trees toward the north of Lemahwungkuk. Then he arrived at a place that a lot of wild animals, and he invoked for the protected from harm.

After surviving a disturbances, he say fa anjaena which means I've safe. Therefore the place was named Panjunan.

Next journey, Walangsungsang walked to the west until he felt confused and lost. Then he prayed and eventually give a solution, and when that he say fasyalamuna means know. This place was later named Pasayangan. Walangsungsang journey then continues to the area that became the forerunner Pekarungan.

Origin of the word Pekarungan itself is fakkarnaa, spoken word Walangsungsang hesitated when would continue their journey or not. The journey continues and Walangsungsang felt happy, the place was then named Gunung Sari and Hamlet Semar of speech Walangsungsang qooma Sirri jami'an samarin.

From the Walangsungsang journey that some areas have forerunner as a name Parujakan derived from the word farjanaa, Pekalangan which is also derived from the words Walangsungsang that fachlonaa (I forgotten mind), Pandesan from fahandasnaa (I can directions), rokibuna rumatallahi Farihin which led to the Kebon will Pring, faroaetu aajataini (I saw two signs) which is now known Anjatan area.

Walangsungsang journey heading south also became the forerunner of the name of the area as Pulasaren from falaa sasarenaa (I do not keep running).
